Trays are used in mass transfer operations where pressure drop limitations are not critical. They are mainly used in high-pressure distillation operations. However few atmospheric, moderate pressure or even vacuum operations are also handled using tray towers. Trays are available in segmental or cartridge type construction to suit customer’s requirement.

Valve Trays
Product description:
Valve trays offer various advantages over other conventional trays such as higher efficiency and capacity compared to bubble cap trays and higher turndown ratio compared to sieve trays.

Types of valves
Description:These are circular floating valves which rise above the deck to allow passage for vapor. The valve does not completely stick to the deck in closed position die to tabs provided on the disc.

Caged valves (KCV3)
Caged valves also contain a circular disc which rises with vapor but has no legs. This disc is enclosed in a rectangular cage which are installed on the deck viz. four legs and in a pre determined pattern. The cage helps in preventing the valve from dislodging during process operation.

Sieve trays
Product description:
Sieve trays have high efficiency and capacity but cannot operate at low turndown due to weeping. They have advantage of low maintenance cost and low fouling tendency compared to valve and bubble cap trays.
Bubble Cap trays
Product description:
Bubble cap trays can operate at high turndown ratio. Caps are available in various sizes and designs.Standard bubble cap models are available in 2”, 4” and 6” sizes.
